A new Beehive ownership scheme has been launched by business partners Darcy Beehre and Luke Foster in the Bay of Plenty.

The idea is to give personal access to an exclusive brand of Manuka honey.

From this month interested parties can sign up for a 10% share of one hive at US$285 to US$2,500 for complete ownership.

This will produce honey for one season from September to May, either for the owner or to be sent anywhere in the world as an exclusive, highly healthy, personalised gift.

The honey will only be collected from the one hive and, as is normal in the industry to ensure consistency, no blending will be allowed.

“We’re trying to provide a luxury experience that’s unique and personal,” Darcy Beehre said.

“Each Your Pure Honey beehive has its own unique flavour, and because they receive the product of just one hive, each of our clients will get a rich, healthy honey that nobody else has.”

This ‘timeshare’ scheme will be fully managed by Your Pure Honey, with the hives being moved around as necessary, an exclusive weblink and supporting DVD showing the hives in their natural surroundings. Initially the scheme is limited to 100 beehives.
