Gain Financial Tools at Dairy Day Workshops
Wednesday, 25 January 2012
Farming life with its dawn to dusk and beyond regime doesn’t leave much time for extra learning but rural women who can squeeze in workshops run by the Dairy Women’s Network find them invaluable. The latest series of practical one-day Dairy Day workshops being held across the North and South Islands from February to April 2012 offers tips and tools for dairying women to take charge of their farm’s financial planning. The network has run a similar series of Dairy Days the past two years and trained around 1000 women in financial basics. Dairy Women’s Network CEO, Sarah Speight says DairyNZ has, again, provided funding for the upcoming two workshops, one for beginners, the other a new advanced course. They will be held in various locations around the country and encompass: 1. The Organised Office (beginner level) Is your office operation streamlined? What tools and systems are there for organising this vital space? Learn how others make their offices hum. This workshop provides some basics about farm accounting and personal finance. 2. Essential Farm Finance (advanced level) Participants will use budget and accounts information to look at benchmarking and learn how to assess a business decision and put together a proposal to take to the bank. Handy Dairy Day locations and courses for local women are: - Te Awamutu: Organised Office (beginner) – February 21. - Morrinsvile: Organised Office (beginner) – March 8. - Pukekohe: Essential Farm Finance (advanced) – April 24. Workshops 10am-2pm, (registration 9.30am). Cost: Early bird price $45pp three working days in advance of course or thereafter $55pp. For enquiries or information visit www.dwn.co.nz.
