There’s no better country fun than an A&P show and coming up next month – November 12 & 13 – is the 98th Clevedon A&P Show, renowned for being a fantastic weekend event for locals, farmers, lifestylers and city-siders. This year some events will take place in a new, purpose-built complex at the Clevedon Showgrounds in Monument Road so even if there’s a drop of rain it will be dry underfoot in part and will make getting around extremely easy. As usual visitors can expect loads of all-round fun for the whole family. And for those who have never had a hands-on farmyard experience, this is the place to discover the joys of country living. With a huge variety of attractions such as wood chopping, dog trials, show jumping, fencing, highland dancing, a petting area and of course, show ring honours for farm stock including beef cattle, dairy cows, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens and much more, Clevedon’s agriculture and pastoral show should not be missed. In addition to exhibitions of farm skills, there’ll be some 100 trade stalls on site plus a variety of areas in which competitors and exhibitors will demonstrate their lifestyle skills from flower arranging through to vegetable growing, baking and preserving. Yet again the show will feature its ever-popular Wine and Food festival sponsored by SsangYong. This will include a taste of local wines and produce plus much more. Adding to the atmosphere will be live bands such as local group Famous Fish. A great weekend of fun, food, entertainment and all the atmosphere of the farm, Clevedon A&P will open on both days from 9am to 5pm. Ticket prices include: Family ticket for two adults and up to three children, $25; Single adult, $10; children 5-14 years, $5; under five years, free. Also free parking on site.
