ifestyle farmers should keep a close eye on their letterbox. A new monthly publication is about to appear in it, bringing a comprehensive range of information, tips, and advertising aimed entirely at the Lifestyle Farmer (up to 100 acres). Best of all, it will be absolutely free.
Unlike many publications who consider small rural holdings “toy” or “pretend” farms, Rural Living takes this rapidly growing sector very seriously. Modelled on BMP’s already successful business papers, Business to Business, Manukau Focus, and North Shore Focus, Rural Living aims to fill a gap in the market, bringing solid, well written, editorial alongside strong, relevant advertorial to Auckland and Northland region.
Rural Living aims to make its mark by covering a wide variety of topics from animal rearing and pasture management to day to day living in a rural community – everything, in fact, a lifestyle farmer could need to know.
Take this opportunity to get in front of high disposable income clients in a niche sector and being associated with a high quality product that aims to become THE monthly handbook for rural lifestylers.
The Team:
JANINE HICKMORE - ADVERTISING EXECUTIVE:
Janine has worked in the media industry for 7 years and is excited to have joined the Rural Living team. In the past Janine lived on a lifestyle block and she also helped run a butchery - so she has brought a lot of valuable and varied experience to the team. She is also great when you need to know which cut of steak is best for the barbie. Although she adores all animals she confines her passion to Bruno, a King Charles Spaniel.

IF YOU HAVE ADVERTISING QUERIES:
Rachel Watts – Advertising Executive – The lifelong townie of the team, Rachel has worked in sales since leaving school. A lack of rural experience has not put Rachel off her task of securing advertising for Rural Living, even if it has not tempted her to exchange supermarket milk for the fresh from the cow variety. Rachel and her husband Jason enjoy boating while they await the arrival of their first child.

IF YOU HAVE NEWS TO SHARE:
Angelique Jurd – Editor – Angelique brings a solid background in rural journalism with her from New Zealand’s oldest national rural publication, Straight Furrow. Angelique grew up on a farm in the Eastern Bay of Plenty and helped her parents breed everything from Herefords to rabbits to dairy goats and anything in between. These days she’s a self confessed urbanite, and confines herself to a small zoo consisting of 3 children, 2 cats, 2 Labradors, and fellow zoo keeper, Dennis.

IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE AT ALL:
Karla Wairau – Manager – With 18 years of Sales and Marketing experience behind her, Karla is leading the charge forward. Growing up on a farm in Taranaki more than prepared her for a small holding nestled in the Hunuas where she and her husband David and their two children, like to hang out with cows, sheep, chickens, pigs and horses.
