What a difference a month makes. In early April we were still suffering from the worst drought in 40 or 50 years. Now, according to Weather Watch, we have had 230mm of rain since April 15. »

Well, it seems the drought has finally broken although at the time of writing we could certainly do with a lot more rain. I’m sure we will feel the effects of the long dry for quite some time yet. »

Well, we’re still waiting for summer to arrive. Although there have been some nice, fine, summery days, there have still been lots of cold, wintery days, however, I shouldn’t complain because the weather has been ideal for those who rely on grass to feed their animals. »

Rain, rain go away, come back another day! Famous words, I know, but how true they are at the moment. Having wet and muddy pasture is extremely hard on the animals so when the ground finally firms, my sheep will need some thorough foot cleaning and trimming. »
